A crack has appeared in my wall. Is it serious?

It depends on width, pattern and movement over time. Hairline cracks in plaster are common and often cosmetic; stepped cracking in brickwork, doors that stop closing, or cracks that keep growing suggest movement worth investigating. Send photos with something for scale and we will tell you honestly which category it looks like.

Do I need an engineer before underpinning?

For genuine structural movement, yes — underpinning should follow an engineering assessment, not precede one. We can arrange the assessment and then price the recommended works, rather than selling underpinning as a default answer.

Can you work from my building inspection report?

Yes. Send the report with your quote request and we will price the rectification items, flag anything that needs further investigation, and sequence the work sensibly.

Do you work with insurance claims?

We complete make-safe and reinstatement works that form part of insurance claims and can provide the photos, scopes and reports insurers ask for. The claim itself remains between you and your insurer — we don't provide claims advice.
